With the demolition of the old building wrapping up over the summer, Phase 2 construction has now begun at MHS! You can see the start of structures for the new areas, including the main entrance, administrative offices, fine arts classrooms and more. The Moorhead High School Hall of Honor will have five new members this October. This year's inductees include MHS alumni, retired district staff and a former school board member. Take a look at the accomplishments and contributions to our community that earned these Spuds their respective spots in the Hall of Honor:
The MHS Career Academy is one of just 40 schools across the entire country to have earned a $5,000 Rachael Ray ProStart Grow Grant. The grant will go to help expand the MHSCA culinary program, which is in its third year and nearly tripled its enrollment from last year.
Homecoming Week will be here soon! Festivities—including events and Spuds sports—will happen throughout the week of September 30, culminating in the Homecoming football game vs. Sartell on October 4 and the MHS Hall of Honor Induction ceremony on October 5. MAPS and Family Health Care are excited to announce the establishment of a school-based clinic on the campus of the Moorhead High School Career Academy. This clinic aims to provide convenient access to healthcare services for students and their families during school hours. If the Career Academy is open, the clinic will be open, as well.
Moorhead Schools saving money with solar panels in the district

Moorhead Area Public Schools part of pilot program to improve student attendance
The Forum reported on the district receiving money from the Student Attendance Pilot Program to help increase attendance over the next three years. MAPS was one of 12 districts selected for this program statewide.
You may see new faces at the Moorhead Area Public Schools Operations Center this fall. The district is pleased to announce that Ashley Evans has joined the team as Human Resources Director and Kam Wingenbach as Director of Business Services.
